Seventh Generation. “Spend an afternoon with them and you'll witness how this co-working space is creating real, innovative systems change for our country's new economy."
I was thinking this morning about the very first meeting I had last year with (the fabulous) Marissa Feinberg, owner of Greenspaces NYC and Loosecubes Host numero uno. I presented her with this crazy idea about getting a bunch of people together to share workspace with each other. People who had space and people who needed it. People whose backs were hurting from working at Starbucks. People who were sick of commuting. People who were seeking moments of connection and friendship to brighten the work day. People who said, “I want more out of my life and my work.”
And she was up for it.
I figured we could make a site and people could get to work. I started out trying to get more productive, and what’s happened is my life has been transformed not by all the work I’ve banged out but by the relationships I’ve made with all of you. You are open. You are passionate. You are making your own rules…and in so doing, you are making our world so so beautiful.
Yes, the search needs work. Yes, the pages could load faster. But we couldn’t ask for a better group of people to be on this adventure with.
You’ve made my life more full. My days more productive. My evenings more fun. Thank you for your generosity of spirit, your willingness to share, andyour willingness to believe that it is possible to change the way the world works.
You guys are making it happen, one day and one conversation, one shared experience at a time. We may be a small movement now, but we’re growing stronger every day. I can feel it.

"The Sustainable Transit salon at Green Spaces was a wonderful opportunity to test our preliminary ideas about implementing a traffic pricing system in the New York metro area. The space provided a terrific forum for engaging people in a dialogue and Marissa and friends did a great job turning out a crowd. The folks who attended were knowledgeable and passionate about traffic pricing and gave us invaluable feedback on how to put forward a plan that meets the twin goals of raising money for public transportation and reducing traffic congestion while minimizing any adverse effects on working New Yorkers. Many thanks to Green Spaces for a great night!"

"This is a GREAT space you have here! You (Green Spaces) will figure out how to remove the distinction between the for-profit and non-profit world."
- James Cameron, The Climate Group
"Green Spaces has had a fair amount of press... BBC, The New York Times and NY1, to name a few. But what does it really mean to be a 'Green Spacer'? We have a communal friendly atmosphere to conduct our work, our neighbours act as sounding boards, and we have connections to all sorts of businesses and non-profits. We’re all working towards environmental or social causes; everyone knows someone you should talk to! Sharing resources and ideas—the up and coming trend of Social Incubators—is one I hope to see grow exponentially. And if you are starting up a business or non-profit it’s a great way to gain access to knowledge and valuable tips on how to succeed."
